The STEAM Café project is part of Qi (pronounced Key) Learning Research Group’s overall mission to develop a scientifically literate society through education. This blog, our webinars and instructables, and the Facebook group were created to support elementary school teachers in bringing STEAM into their classrooms. However, you will find that our platform, our blog, and our group are just developing and incomplete because we’ve created spaces there to hear from you — there’s a lot of work to be done, but we wanted to make sure that you, our teachers, were involved in the whole process from ground zero. As an educator myself, I don’t like being told what to do by people who have never taught, and I don’t like using resources from people who have second-guessed my needs. Instead, my vision for STEAM Café is that our work is informed by your needs, by your input, and by your suggestions.
We need your help in making STEAM Café a help group and resource that is useful to you. As a learning community, we all learn by sharing and listening to each other’s experiences, ideas, and advice. STEAM Café is a place for your voice and your input. Please, if you ever have comments, questions, or suggestions, you can email me at yen@QiLearning.com or by leaving your comment here in the blog. I’m listening, and I am so excited to be working with you, and learning along the way!
